β Everyday Life
Two Venetian Ladies
Vittore Carpaccio Β· 1490
Why it's great
Two women sit on a balcony in Venice, looking bored, with a pigeon, a dog and a peacock. Vittore Carpaccio painted it in about 1490, and it is a rare glimpse into the daily life of Venetian women, though the painting has been cut down.
