Harlequin with a Guitar

Juan Gris · 1917

Why it's great

A circus clown, Harlequin, holds a guitar in a patchwork of blue, black and white diamonds. Juan Gris painted this in 1917, and Harlequin, a character from Italian comedy, was a favorite of the Cubists.
