Young Man Holding a Roundel
Sandro Botticelli Β· 1480
Why it's great
A young man in a red cap holds up a small round painting of a saint, as if showing it to us. Sandro Botticelli painted him in about 1480, and the little round picture was probably painted by an older artist.
